Slumming Sunday...

and I now finally join the ranks of those who have watched Slumdog Millionaire!

Lets not be highbrowed, but being quite the bibliophile, I am bound to think, "the book was so much better" as in the case of most books turned movies anyways but I deffo deffo deffo loved the movie too!!!

Q&A (yes, read it loooong before it became the bing-bang-hit that it now is, and before it was renamed to match the movie) definitely had more twists and was more interesting plot-wise but the music was amazing and the cinematography were great. Ginger demurred though that it was reminiscent of Danny Boyle's other movies (Trainspotting, anyone?) so nothing that new. Oh well, still think that it was pawsome!!!

I do wish that they'd stayed truer to the book (missed the "Ram Mohammad Thomas" explanation and the story behind the person he phoned when using his "book" call option... the "movie" call option was kinda sappy though it fulfilled its purpose i guess...) but with my meagre experience in producing a film and script-writing, I sorta get the feasibility issues of turning the book in its entirety into a movie.

Overall it was pretty damn awesome. A.R. Rahman was as brilliant as ever and the icky-poo covered boy scene was kinda gross eeeew but really cute. Amitabh Bachan must be really flattered. Is Dev Patel a dish or what?!

Lap-lap-lapin, carrots for getting out of the burrow and watching it together hoho.
